1:15 — Lancaster, California
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Lancaster Station. June 20, 2026, approximately 2:00 p.m. Deputies responded to a call of a man swinging knives near the Lancaster train station. The suspect, 23, closed distance on a deputy and stabbed him in the upper body. Deputies returned fire. The suspect was struck and pronounced dead at the hospital. The deputy was treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds.
13:00 — San Diego, California
San Diego Police Department. June 23, 2026. Officers responded to a mother’s 911 call reporting her son had assaulted her and barricaded himself in a fourth-floor apartment, armed with a knife and a baseball bat, during a mental health crisis. Following a roughly two-hour standoff, officers breached the door. The suspect advanced on officers with a raised knife. Officers fired. The suspect was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. Officers sustained minor injuries.
25:30 — Ocala, Florida
Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Suspect abducted his ex-girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter from her Ocala home, triggering an Amber Alert. Deputies located the vehicle following a citizen tip. As deputies approached, the suspect pulled a gun. Eight deputies and one officer opened fire. The suspect was struck and killed. The 13-year-old girl was recovered safe and unharmed. Whether she was inside the vehicle at the moment of the shooting has not been confirmed.
29:00 — Santa Ana, California
Santa Ana Police Department, Orange County. June 14, 2026, approximately 10:26 p.m. Officers responded to a family disturbance after the suspect, 15, stabbed his stepfather and barricaded himself inside the apartment with his mother. After hearing her pleading with him to drop the knife, officers breached the door. The suspect advanced with a second knife. Officers fired. He was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. The stepfather was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound. The mother was not harmed.
42:30 — West Miami-Dade, Florida
Miami-Dade County. Incident occurred August 26, 2025; body camera footage released roughly eleven months later. The suspect, 50, broke into an apartment window and shot his ex-partner in the chest before retreating to his fourth-floor unit. Three deputies located him and exchanged gunfire. He was struck and killed. His ex-partner survived the gunshot wound.
54:03 — Elkhart, Indiana
Officers approached a parked vehicle with five occupants in a closed lot. When ordered to raise his hands, the front-seat passenger, 17, opened the door instead. The prosecutor’s office determined he fired first; an officer returned fire. He was struck and killed. No officers were injured. Two handguns were recovered, one modified with a full-auto switch.
1:03:30 — Fort Worth, Texas
Fort Worth Police Department. Late July 2026, approximately 6:00 a.m. Suspect forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment armed with knives, assaulted her and her current boyfriend, and chased them into the parking lot. Officers arrived and ordered him to drop the knife. He held a knife to his own throat while advancing on an officer with a second knife in hand. Officers fired. He was struck and killed.
1:10:30 — Fort Worth, Texas
Fort Worth Police Department. Late July 2026, approximately 8:00 p.m. A private investigator located the suspect at a motel; he was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender and cutting off his ankle monitor. After an eight-minute pursuit, he returned to the motel and refused commands to exit the vehicle. He placed what was later determined to be an air pistol in his mouth, then lowered it and removed his seatbelt. Two officers fired as he raised the weapon. He was struck and killed at the scene.
