Incident: Friday, September 25, 2026, about 8 p.m., 500 Ruiz Street, San Antonio, Texas. Footage released by the San Antonio Police Department on Friday, October 23, 2026, under its critical incident video release procedure.
At about 8 p.m., San Antonio police responded to a report of a man armed with a shotgun inside a bag at a convenience store. According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers found him about a block away and tried to take him into custody, but he pulled away and moved to a parking lot near the front door of a bar.
Police say he held the bag in a manner indicating he was holding and pointing a shotgun. More officers arrived and tried to communicate with him for about 20 minutes, ordering him to drop the bag. At one point he racked the slide of the shotgun, and multiple officers fired their weapons, striking him.
