A man with a kitchen knife ran into a stranger’s open garage on Diablo Drive in Foothill Farms on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, and attacked a mother and her daughter, with a Sacramento County deputy right behind him. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office released this Critical Incident Debrief with the 911 call, dispatch audio and in-car camera video. The account below is the Sheriff’s Office’s own.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., employees at the Starbucks at Elkhorn Boulevard and Diablo Drive called 911 to report a man behind the store counter armed with a kitchen knife, and hid in the back room. He was gone when deputies arrived.

Deputies canvassed the area. Minutes later, a deputy saw a man matching the description walking on Diablo Drive. As the deputy closed the distance, the man ran across the street and into the open garage of a home in the 5700 block of Diablo Drive.

Inside, a 63-year-old woman was getting into her car when he stabbed and cut her repeatedly. Her 26-year-old daughter heard her mother scream, found him on top of her and pushed him off, and he turned on her and stabbed her too. The deputy, seeing the attack through the open garage door, drove into the driveway and fired while it was still going on.

Fire personnel pronounced the suspect dead at the scene. Both women were taken to a hospital with multiple stab wounds and were listed in serious but stable condition. No deputies were injured. Investigators say the victims were random, with no known connection to him. The Sheriff’s Office identified him as 23-year-old Faryeshyi Allahdin.

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office internal review hold the case.
