The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation released body-worn camera footage on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from its investigation into the death of a minor following an encounter with members of the New York State Police, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department in Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County.
The video above is the five body-worn camera files exactly as the Attorney General released them, joined into one video in the order the Attorney General published them.
According to the Attorney General, during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 27, 2026, officers from all three agencies responded to a 911 call reporting a suicidal person in Wappingers Falls.

When they arrived, officers encountered the minor on the ledge of an overpass bridge with a knife in his hand. Officers attempted to speak to him for about 50 minutes.
The Attorney General says he then stood up and allegedly ran toward at least one officer while holding the knife. Multiple officers fired their service weapons, striking him. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officers recovered a knife at the scene.
The Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation is investigating under New York Executive Law Section 70-b. The Attorney General says the release of this footage is not an expression of any opinion as to the guilt or innocence of any party.
